How to Teach a dog in protection training "OUT"

Remember that teaching out is not just teaching the dog the aggression is on hold. To teach out correctly it is very important that you show the dog that out means the threat is gone for the time present. Later we can then teach the dog that out is only in that moment...

Remember to have the owner start using out as you leave for a break during aggitations. These breaks should be for a 2 min break or more and the owner will know the break is comming and issue the command as you leave the dogs sight. Do this for a few weeks or two lessons. Then you will be able to atrt using the command while you are still in the room.

When you are ready... Start by walking in the house with submission in your mind. Wonder around the room in front of the dog and do not make eye contact. Coach the owner on handling showing them.
