A Sun Dog in Michigan?

A Sun Dog in Michigan?

After 15 miles driving into the sun, I thought I was seeing things. I pulled off the road and saw this Strange Effect.. NOT the Sun..  I almost thought it was the sun reflecting off of an object hiding in the clouds.. I have NEVER seen this before- Have You?

The Movie Theater I pulled off at to take these pictures, I met a veteran who said he had traveled the world but had never seen this before. Very Strange and Weird..

The ONLY Explanation I have heard so far-

A sun dog or sundog (scientific name parhelion, plural parhelia, from Greek parēlion, (παρήλιον), παρά(beside) + ήλιος(sun), "beside the sun"; also called a mock sun or a phantom sun) is an atmospheric phenomenon that creates bright spots of light in the sky, often on a luminous ring or halo on either side of the sun.
