Ex-S.C. mayor pleads not guilty to federal charges
(The Associated Press) A former South Carolina mayor who pleaded guilty to misconduct last year has pleaded not guilty to Social Security fraud charges against him.The Morning News of Florence reported Friday that former Latta mayor Alan Lenneau Berry is charged with theft of federal government funds. He's accused of taking around $129,000 in disability benefits while he was mayor.
